MM2 Values Explained: What Makes an Item Rare
July 5, 2026 · 5 min read · by BloxGuy

In Murder Mystery 2, every knife and gun has a community value — a rough estimate of what it's worth in a trade, usually measured in "seers" (the value of a Seer knife). But why is one godly worth a handful of seers while another is worth hundreds? Here's what actually drives MM2 values.
1. Rarity tier
MM2 items are grouped by rarity — common, uncommon, rare, legendary, godly, and special variants like Ancient, Vintage and Chroma. Higher tiers are harder to obtain, so they generally hold more value. Chroma weapons (animated, color-shifting versions of godlies) sit at the top for most items.
2. Supply and demand
Value is ultimately a market. An item that's out of circulation (no longer obtainable from events, boxes or crafting) becomes scarcer over time, pushing its value up. An item that's easy to unbox stays cheaper. Demand matters just as much — a good-looking, popular knife trades faster and higher than a rare-but-ugly one.
3. Circulating vs. limited
Seasonal and event items that can no longer be earned tend to climb, while items still dropping from the current pool stay flat. This is why "old" godlies from past events can be surprisingly valuable.
How to check current values
Values shift constantly, so always check a list that's updated daily rather than relying on old numbers. BloxGuy tracks live values for hundreds of items — see the MM2 Value Checker for the current worth of any knife or gun.
